Lit Review:
On audio: The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
A science fiction tome. 24 hours long. July’s book club read. I loved this book despite it’s length. We had a great discussion of it in book club as well. I gave it 4 stars out of 5. What I loved about the book is that it isn’t very science fiction-y for sci-fi. It culminates into one chapter that is really sci-fi, but that was my favorite reader of the book on audio, so I really enjoyed that chapter too. I love the social commentary in this book, which in my opinion is what sci-fi should be.
Up next: Still Alice by Lisa Genova for August book club.
In progress, on paper: Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. Juniata’s summer read. I’m about halfway finished, but gaining ground quickly–it’s a quick read.
Noteworthy: Craft-along progress–I just finished my vanilla socks, and instead of casting on a new pair, I will try to finish things up. Nanaimo socks are back next. I also want to finish my sweater from a couple of years ago after my Lilli Pilli shawl. Then I will work on some lingering Cookie A projects.
